French present subjunctive battleship games

French present subjunctive battleship games Everyone loves a good game of BATTLESHIP, and the French classroom is a better place than any! You can use this classic game format to practice forming the PRESENT SUBJUNCTIVE. This resource includes 45 verbs. There are regular verbs and irregular verbs to practice with. 5 different versions of the game are included. *There is not an answer key included with this resource due to the number of responses possible. I encourage you to allow your students to use a resource that you choose for them to check your answers. If you’re not sure what to use I can highly recommend verb2verb.com. This resource includes 5 versions of the game with both black and white and color copies and instructions on how to play. All battleship games are also sold separately for $3.50 each. Check out my collection of BATAILLE NAVALE games! Just print out one page of the version you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats. Subject pronouns preceded by QUE are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the present subjunctive using either être or avoir as helping verb. All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they want to. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent. Au Restaurant - French 20 questions game - No prep printable speaking activity

(0)
Au Restaurant - French 20 questions game - No prep printable speaking activity The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions and in this version of the game, students will learn over 50 nouns and verbs that follow a restaurant theme. This game work for any level as it is written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version! Included: 1 version with vocabulary written in French and English 1 version with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity. This game includes 52 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they’ve played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. EST-CE QUE……. … c’est une personne? … c’est un animal? … c’est un minéral? … c’est un endroit? … c’est un aliment? … c’est une plante? … c’est un objet? The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.

French relative pronouns QUE - QUI - OÙ - DONT: 140 practice cards

(0)
This is a set of 140 French relative pronouns practice cards focusing on QUI - QUE - OÙ - DONT. These cards are so much more fun (and challenging) than classic worksheets. There’s lots of repetition, and that’s what our students need to practice and master these confusing relative pronouns. My students find it particularly fun to use these cards as a guessing game with a partner or small group, and even the mysterious DONT becomes a lot easier! Each card displays an image, and beneath the image it is written how to say it in French. For example, C’est un lave-vaisselle. Students are prompted to say at least two sentences using relative pronouns to describe the image, and their partner(s) have to guess what it is. At the top of the card it may say C’est quelque chose que… or C’est quelque chose dont… and at the bottom of the card it may say C’est quelque chose où… or C’est quelque chose qui… Students have to finish the sentences using correct grammar, and they need to give enough information for their partner to make an intelligent guess. In the beginning, it can be very difficult for students to formulate their own sentences, and that’s why there are two sets of 70 cards included with this resource. SET ONE: The cards have two clues already written on them. This is a nice way for students to warm up to the activity, understand how it works, and get in some valuable practice and examples. In this version, students read the clues to their partner(s) and soak in the grammar while their peers practice their listening skills. SET TWO: These are the same cards, but the clues are not written on them. Students will have already practiced with SET ONE, and should be able to come up with their own sentences (and if they remember the ones from SET ONE… all the better)! The only clues they are given is whether they should follow the prompt with a subject or verb since those rules can be tricky and hard to remember. These practice cards provide a quick NO PREP activity that you can use for years to come. You have the option of printing and cutting out the cards (4 per page - laminate if possible) or having students use the PDF file on their devices (1 per page). Included: 70 numbered practice cards with clues - 4 per page for printing and cutting out 70 numbered practice cards with clues - 1 per page for projecting or online use 70 numbered practice cards without clues - 4 per page for printing and cutting out 70 numbered practice cards without clues - 4 per page for printing and cutting out

One player distributes five cards to each player (2 to 4 per group). The rest of the cards are placed in the “pioche”. One player begins the game by asking another player to give him a card. He or she might say, “Est-ce que tu es triste?” The goal is to come up with complete families. The different verbs represent the families. There are 6 cards to a family (JE - TU - IL - NOUS- VOUS - ILS). Students will find it helpful to group together the cards that have the same picture at the top (flower, flip-flops, etc.) If the player doesn’t have it, he says “pioche”. If he draws the card that he asked for, he can continue to play and ask someone for another card. Each time a player comes up with all six members of a family, he can make a stack. At the end of the game, the player with the most sets of families wins!

GCSE FRENCH: French Speaking Questions Task Cards - 8 Tense Bundle

8 Resources
These 8 sets of 30 speaking questions are just right for students who need to practice the FRENCH VERB TENSES, and they are a perfect no prep speaking activity for busy teachers. Each set of EST-CE QUE questions uses the TU form with verbs in the various tenses. In addition to regular and irregular -ER, -IR and -RE verbs I've also included many irregular verbs. This bundle give you 25% off the regular price. There are 8 sets of cards included, one for each of the tenses listed below: Futur proche Futur simple Passé Composé Present Imperfect Conditional Past Conditional Present Subjunctive In order to avoid OUI and NON answers, each question also includes an interrogative word which is great practice in helping to remember what they mean and where they're placed in the sentence. Since all of the questions are asked in the TU form, all of the answers will be in the first person singular. This is so that students can really focus and get used to using these verbs when talking about themselves and when talking to a friend. Just cut out the 30 cards, punch holes in the spaces provided and attach the stack of cards with a key ring. It would be a great idea to print on card stock and laminate the cards before punching holes and attaching them. Super easy and no prep for years to come. Both black and white and color versions are included as well as a 2 page print out of the questions if you should decide to use them as a quiz or homework assignment. I am a firm believer that repetition is key in learning a language, and that's why I've created many different versions of these speaking cards. All of the cards ask the same basic questions, but each time in a different tense. My students really appreciate the familiarity of the cards even when learning a new tense. As your students learn more and more tenses you could easily create small groups, give each student in the group a different tense stack, and have them ask each other the same basic questions but in different tenses. That's a very effective review of verb forms!
